Question 1 : How far is the property "Hidden Forest" from Bagdogra Airport at Siliguri.
Answer 1 : The property is 4 hours away from Bagdogra Airport provided that no stops are made along the way.
Question 2 : How far is the property "Hidden Forest" from New Jalpaiguri Train Station at Siliguri.
Answer 2 : The property is 3.5 hours from New Jalpaiguri Station provided that no stops are made along the way.
Question 3 : Do we get taxi outside the airport or the New Jalpaiguri train station?
Answer 3 : Yes, taxis are available outside the airport and the train station. However it has to be ensured that the tourist should, at the first instance clearly specify to the taxi driver, that they need to be dropped at The Hidden Forest Retreat, Sichey Busty, Below DC Court, Gangtok. The taxi should not drop you at some jeep stand or at town. If the taxi drops you to a jeep stand or town then you need to again take another taxi to reach Hidden Forest.
Question 4 : How far is the property from M.G. Marg (Main town)? Is it possible to walk?
Answer 4 : Our property is 3 kms away from town. It is possible to walk to MG Marg from our hotel but its a steep walk up.
Questions 5 : Do we get taxis outside the hotel?
Answer 5 : Yes, there are taxis that ply on the main road outside the hotel which can be flagged down. The tourists can book the entire taxi or just pay for an individual seat. OR if required the hotel can call a taxi from town with will be expensive then flagging one down.
Question 6 : Do you allow three adults in one room?
Answer 6 : No we do not allow three adults in one room. For the third adult you need to book a single room.
Question 7 : Do you give off season discounts?
Answer 7 : No, we do not give off season discounts. Our rates are the most basic and remain the same through-out the year . There is no off season at our place.
Question 8 : What is the tariff?
Answer 8 : The tariff is as displayed in the hotel website www.hiddenforestretreat.org.
Question 9 : What type of food do you serve?
Answer 9 : Our property is a home-stay and we do not have a fixed menu system. We serve ala-carte and serve dishes like Indian, Chinese etc for the guests. The guests have to only tell us whether they are non-vegetarian, or vegetarian.
Question 10 : Do you have fixed timings for meals?
Answer 10 : Yes we have a timings for meals and the food will only be made if ordered so that food served is fresh and healthy. The order for food has to be placed well in advance. eg. the confirmation for dinner has to be given by the guest at breakfast time. We serve fresh organic vegetables grown in our own garden.
Question 11 : Do you have a travel desk. Can you arrange taxis?
Answer 11 : No, we do not have a travel desk. However we can suggest names of travels that you can use and help you with your itinerary once you are with us.
Question 12 : Do rooms have a view. What type of facilities are provided in the room? Do you have running hot water in bathrooms? Do you see Mount Khangchendzonga from the hotel premises. What type of rooms do you have?
Answer 12 : All rooms have a view facing balcony with chairs to relax whilst looking at the view. The flooring of the rooms are all wooden. The rooms are provided with tea/coffee maker, attached bath, balcony, geyser for hot water and a television. No, we do not see the Mount Khangchendzonga from our property. Our property has view of the Gangtok town on one side and hills on the other. All rooms are the same and there is no classification of rooms. Further we do not have intercoms in the room. Heaters are available at extra charge during winters. We are surrounded by 3 acres garden of orchids, azeleas and other flowers.
Question 13 : Can guests use the kitchen?
Answer 13 : No we regret the inconvenience but we do not allow guest to use the kitchen.
Question 14 : Do we pay by cash or card?
Answer 14 : You can pay by cash or card. But in rare cases card does not work because sometimes the telephone lines in Sikkim get disturbed.
Question 15 : How do we book the rooms? Do we have to pay advance money to confirm the booking?Answer 15 : For booking the rooms guest have to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and confirmation will be sent through mail. There is no need to pay advance money for confirming the booking. However we expect that if the guest for some reason is not able to come to Sikkim then the hotel may be duly informed in advance so that other bookings can be taken.
